Adam Sandler, Kevin Spade, Chris Rock and Kevin James return in the upcoming American buddy comedy Grown Ups 2.  The sequel to the 2010’s Grown Ups the gang return, minus Rib Schneider due to scheduling conflicts in what is sure to be one of the comedic hits of the year.

Lenny Feder (Sander) has moved his family back to the small town in which he and his friends grew up in.  The film follows the Grown Ups as Eric Lamonsoff (James), Kurt, McKenzie (Rock), Marcus Higgins (Spade) and Lenny on the build-up to the last day of the school year.

From the trailer this looks to be an improvement on the original and Shaq appears to steal the show as a cop in this sequel.

The film is due for release on July 12 2013.

This is the End is an upcoming comedy film from the writers of Pineapple Express and Superbad.  It stars James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson as parody portals of themselves.

The plot of the film is a weird one but you expect it from the writers and the cast of the film.  James Franco is having a party and during the party a series of apocalyptic events strike Los Angeles.

As the world continues to end around them the men barricade themselves in James Franco’s house in the hope that they can survive.  The film features cameos from Rihanna, Michael Cera, Paul Rudd and many more, however from the trailer Emma Watson steals the show.

First of this trailer is a Red Band trailer this means that it is for mature viewers only so be warned.  Secondly I know I only put up a Pain and Gain trailer a few days ago but that was a Universal trailer and this is the Red Band one.  You can view the Universal one below which does not feature mature content.

The trailer is completely different from the Universal one and it features some jokes and one-liners that many people had hoped for from this film.  It showcases the over 18 nature of this movie with the violence, crass and nudity in films that we all know and love.

Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg are the stars of the film playing Paul Doyle and Daniel Lugo.  This trailer also shows more of the ensemble cast such as Ken Jeong (Johnny Wu) and Rebel Wilson (Ramona Eldridge).

The film looks to be chaotic and funny in places with more of the humorous elements highlighted in this trailer.  Pain and Gain, much like Pacific Rim, is a contender for the Guy Film of the summer if not the year.

It is due for release on April 26 2013.

Hugh Jackman returns as Logan/Wolverine in the upcoming film aptly name ‘The Wolverine’.  It is a follow on to 2009 X-Men origins: Wolverine but is not a direct sequel, it instead picks up more or less after X-Men: The Last Stand.

The film takes place in Japan after Logan is summoned by someone from his past, only for him to be double crossed and made vulnerable for the first time.  Logan must overcome this and many more obstacles throughout the film in the hope of emerging more powerful than before.

The trailer sets the story up nicely and re-introduces us to the character much like in the first X-Men film in a bar during a brawl.

The fight scenes look to be very clean and crisp and from the trailer the film looks to be a major improvement on his X-Men Origins outing.  The trailer and a few images is all we have to go on at the moment with much of the film shrouded in mystery, including what rating the film will have upon release.

The film is set for a summer release and is released, depending where you are in the world, wither on July 24, 25, or 26 2013.  Until then you can enjoy the first trailer, which can be viewed below.

'We created Monsters, to fight Monsters' the tagline for the film alone had me half sold on going to see this movie and then I saw the trailer, let’s just say I have the popcorn ready and waiting.  Pacific Rim is the upcoming film from Guillermo Del Toro and it stars Charlie Hunnam as Raleigh Beckett and Idris Elba as Stacker Pentecost.

In every other film that I can think of the monsters come from the sky but in Pacific Rim they come from the see and are known as Kaiju.  The monsters which the humans created are basically massive robots called Jaegers, think Iron Man meets The Iron Giant but on steroids.

However over time the Jaegers become more and more ineffective against the Kaiju and it is down to a former pilot, (Hunnam), and an untested trainee Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi).  Both men are put in charge of a legendary but obsolete Jaeger as the human races last hope.

With a strong cast, a great director and some of the best visuals I have seen in a film for years, judging from the trailer, this film could be the Man film of the year.  Hunnam and Elba are two fantastic actors capable of shouldering the load of such a massive film.  The film also features Ron Perlman, but Charlie Hunnam is in it so you already knew that.

This film looks to be a contender for an Oscar for Visual Effects however the only downside to it, for me anyway is that it’s in 3D.  It is due for release on July 12 2013, and if all goes to plan it could be a future ReelRecommends

Pain and Gain is an upcoming film based on true events, due out for release next month starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson.  The film follows Daniel Lugo (Wahlberg) a regular bodybuilder who is fed up with his life and decides to do something about it.

With the help of ex-con Paul Doyle (Johnson) and his friend Adrian DoorBal (Anthony Mackie) they plan to kidnap Victor Kerhsaw, portrayed by Tony Shalhoub.  Kershaw is a regular at the gym in which Lugo works and is a rich, spoiled man who they plan on kidnapping and torturing so he will sign over all his finances.

Things start to wrong for the men, known as the ‘Sun Gym Gang’ when Kershaw survives the gangs attempted murder and he hires Detective Ed Du Bois (Ed Harris) to track down the gang.

The film looks really good and with it based on true events it seems to have a good story.  The first thing you notice from the trailer is the size of both Wahlberg and Johnston who are both huge in the film.

The film is directed by Michael Bay and has a strong cast of actors who are on a roll as of late.  Pain and Gain is based on the magazine articles of the same name by Steve Collins and, the film is due for release on April 26.

In a break from the normal upcoming cinema releases 3,2,1, Frankie Go Boom is a film which was released last week in Ireland, and a few months ago everywhere else.  The reason why I decided to do it in the trailers section is because I have been anticipating this film for months, and now that it is finally released I plan on watching it in the coming days.

Spoilers below but only taken from trailer

Frankie Go Boom is a comedy starring Charlie Hunnam as Frankie a guy who has his life ruined by a Youtube video and so he hides out.  After eventually coming back his brother Bruce, played by Chris O’Dowd, uploads a video of him having sex with Lassie (Lizzy Caplan).  He also gives the video to an actor he hopes to work with Jack (Chris Noth), who also happens to be Lassies father.

Chaos ensues thereafter with the two brothers trying to get the tape back and to delete the video without anybody seeing it.  The film looks to be one of the comedies of the year with a stellar supporting cast including Ron Perlman and Whitney Cummings.

You can see the trailer below and see what you make of it and it is available on DVD everywhere.
